Biological Information
Background Information:
N-terminal 6His-tagged, recombinant, human WNK1, amino acids 1-491. WNK1 is an atypical serine/threonine kinase involved in regulating ion transport and blood pressure by modulating sodium and potassium channels. Gain-of-function mutations increasing WNK1 expression have been found in patients with familial hypertension and several studies have suggested that WNK1 also plays an important role in cancer, particularly T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), where it may serve as a druggable target.
