Biological Information

Background Information:

N-Terminal 6His-tagged, recombinant, human CDKL5, amino acids 1-402. CDKL5 regulates axon outgrowth, dendritic morphogenesis and synapse formation in early postnatal life. It also plays a role in maintaining synaptic function in the adult brain and may regulate ciliogenesis. Pathologic mutations in cyclin-dependent kinase-like 5 cause CDKL5 deficiency disorder (CDD), a developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE) with infantile-onset epilepsy, global developmental delay with subsequent intellectual and motor disabilities, and cortical visual impairment.
