Biological Information

Background Information:

Interleukin 26 (IL-26) is a cytokine protein and mediator of the immune response that is overexpressed in herpesvirus samimiri-transformed T cells, and thought to contribute to the transformed phenotype of T cells after herpesvirus infection. IL-26 is an agonist for IL20RA, has roles in mucosal immunity, and may be a pro-inflammatory factor. Inhibited by heparin, and may be implicated in inflammatory bowel disease. Similar in sequence to IL-10. Provided as 25 μg of dry powder alongside reconstitution buffer.
