The FFAR1 (GPR40) Gq Calcium Signaling Cell-Based Assay Kit (CHO-K1) utilizes the FFAR1 (GPR40) Gq cell line. The stable engineered cell line is designed for use in studying drug candidates (small molecules or biologics) that target GPCRs. This cell line enables the assessment of ligand (e.g., FFAs) based activation of FFAR1 GPCR activity via detection of increasing levels of intracellular calcium. The included cell line overexpresses FFAR1, a naturally Gq coupled GPCR. Upon activation of FFAR1, the resulting calcium activity can be fluorescently assayed using the Calcium NoWash PLUS Detection Kit.
